What is provided?

When you subscribe to our SaaS application service we provide you with everything you need to use the caBIG application you have selected. This includes actual hardware, variety of system software (such as web and application servers, databases of various types, security software, etc.) and networking and communication services.  The bullets below itemize the key components in the solution:

  • Pre-configured VM Appliance (2 GB Memory, 100GB Disk, 100 GB/Month Data Transfer
  • Physical, Administrative, Technical Security, Virus Scanning, DoS Prevention, Intrusion Detection, etc.
  • Off-Site tape storage (up to 25GB of your data included at no extra cost). We will perform daily incremental backups and weekly full backups. Additional off-site storage can be obtained - call for pricing. 
  • We manage all hosting infrastructure components (firewall, routers, switches, SANs, UPS, etc.) for you as part of the base service. 
  • We maintain and upgrade all operating system, middleware and caBIG® application software for you.
  • We also provide audit trail, logging, access control, incident reporting, vulnerability testing as part of the solution.

Our hosting infrastructure is operational 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We monitor your system to ensure that it is functioning correctly with the allocated physical resources. If your project expands and you need more "power" we will increase your allocations when the need arises. That way you never pay for excess capacity - when you need the resources they will be available to you but you don't need to reserve or pre-pay for them in advance.

Our engineering team supports systems, networking and database technical and administrative needs during a 12 hour time period between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM EST.
