Mr. Walter Winshall
Walter Winshall is a principal in Collaborative Seed and Growth Partners, LLC, a company investing in the commercialization of early stage technology. He was also a co-founder and former chairman of SilverPlatter International, NV (later acquired by Wolters Kluwer BV), a provider of reference information to academic and research institutions, and also a principal in CLSI, a supplier of library automation systems and services. Mr. Winshall currently serves as a director of several early stage businesses. Mr. Winshall graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a degree in Electrical Engineering, and from the Harvard Law School.
Mr. Marc Goldberg
Marc Goldberg co-founded BioVentures Investors, and has over 20 years of experience in the biotechnology industry as both senior executive and deal maker. From 1991 to 1997, Mr. Goldberg was President and CEO of Massachusetts Biotechnology Research Institute (MBRI) responsible for the financing, strategic direction, and operation of this private sector economic development organization which specialized in technology transfer and company formation. During his tenure, MBRI raised $20 million in funding and was responsible for the launch of 24 new biotechnology companies. MBRI’s success served as a model for the development of similar systems throughout the U.S., as well as internationally.
From 1987 to 1991, Mr. Goldberg held senior positions at Safer, Inc., including CFO, VP and Corporate Development. He implemented all outside scientific collaborations with both public and private entities, handled the sale of Safer’s consumer division, managed the company between CEOs, positioned the company for sale, and negotiated the final merger agreement. From 1983 to 1987, Mr. Goldberg was Manager of Business Development at Genetics Institute, Inc. where he was responsible for the company’s agricultural business development, strategic planning, and marketing functions. In 1985, Mr. Goldberg co-founded the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council, and has served four terms as President and was a Director from its inception until 1997. He has also served as a board member of numerous privately held companies, and was a member and principal author of the Governor’s Task Force, Subcommittee on Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Development. He was a Governor of the Harvard Business School Association of Boston, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Worcester State College. Mr. Goldberg earned his AB from Harvard College (Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude), his JD from Harvard Law School (cum laude), and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
Mr. William A. Tulskie
William A. Tulskie, CEO & CTO of HealthCare IT, Inc., has over 24 years of experience in architecting, designing, building, and operating IT systems for clients in the financial, industrial, utility, distribution, and healthcare/life sciences industries. Mr. Tulskie's career includes 23 years with IBM working in technical marketing and customer support providing systems engineering services to IBM largest customers. He also served over 10 years in IBM Research, leading the development of technologies and methodologies for IBM's Services Division. Mr. Tulskie developed commercial technologies for business process modeling and simulation, and developed patents and associated technology for market preference analytics, 3D visualization, business strategy formulation, advanced data archival, and optimized solution component engineering.
